3 things i wanna do that i dont know how to

Well make that 2 things that i dont know how to do and one that i want to do more of.
here we go:

I really want to learn to sew. I have so many cutesy, cool ideas of things that i think people would like and that i would like. That is part of the whole "Quirkie Bird" thing, but i dont know how to sew!!! I even have a sewing machine. Take a look at this online store and how CUTE her stuff is and you can see my thoughts and inspiration and my lack of knowing how:
Forensics
then a constant inspiration is anything by
Anthropologie

then, another part of my business "venture" along with my dear dear friend
Holly Wynne is to start a coffee shop. But i dont know how to do that. I just know i have lots of great ideas on how to do and why to do it and...i just need help.

And lastly, I want to bake more. I just love to bake.
Speaking of baking, go see my friend Adriana from Starbuck's new blog:

Any tips? I need ‘em.

So fun. I think all three of those things would be amazing to do and would never feel like work. (sadly Erie just isnt the place for those things) Buuutttt...

I think the best way to learn how to sew is just to turn it on and start sewing. (which is very intimidating) but you will learn. Singer also has a great "basics" book for beginners.

As far as the coffee shop - call common grounds and ask Jill how she got started. Im sure she is happy to talk about her experience. You may have already thought of that/tried that - but just a thought.

Oh is there a local cupcake store there? Not a coffee shop but they would go through some of the same practical things.. you could try to talk to them. (tell them its research for a class you are taking :)

I love this post! That would be a fun Mr. Linky post. Of course I think it's fabulous that my friend Amy made your list of cool inspirations. She amazes me.

My friend's mother has started several successful businesses. Her advice is to find somebody who is already doing what you want to do and ask if you can buy them lunch. When you get them there, ask them how they did it. Most people are glad to tell their story and will share some great tips. Two or three good business owners and you should have an idea what your next step should be.
