carrying a trunk up this mountain

I am literally hungry all day. I can’t stop I tell you. If I am eating I am happy and if I am not, I am sick. Let me give you a run down of what I ate yesterday:

Breakfast before work: low fat yogurt with strawberries and blueberries and a cup of OJ
Water all morning.
At work mid morning snack: 2 pieces of whole grain toast with apple butter on them
(Maybe a Reese’s peanut butter cup here or there…it was a small one)
Water.
Home for lunch: wheat thins and pimento cheese, carrot sticks and broccoli florets, and two (whoops!) corn dogs
(and maybe a 2 Hershey kisses for dessert)
Water.
Apple slices for a mid afternoon snack
Fresh strawberries for a pre-work out snack.
More carrots when I got home from working out
A turkey sandwich with cheese and reduced fat wheat thins for dinner, plus those yummy yummy pirouette thingies. (You know they are long, and waffery and have chocolate in the middle and you are suppose to put them with ice cream or coffee or something and they are the width of your pinky but as long as a new pencil. I think I ate about 6 of those. Don’t judge me…i don't normally eat this much. it's all new to me)
OJ before bed and saltines by the bedside.

SHEESH!!!!! This pregnancy stuff is hard! Hopefully it will be better come 2nd trimester.
My girlfriend Katelyn said that the first trimester is similar to climbing a mountain. A mountain with a backpack of snacks I would say which makes it even harder.
It seems like I am carrying a trunk up this mountain!

I summit on March 19th…

I am the little engine that could. Ithinkican, Ithinkican, i thinkican, ithinkican, I KNOW I CAN!
did i mention i am tired?

Over from SITS!

Glad to have come across your blog.

I suffer from what I call "Voracious Ravenoucitis" when I'm battling PMS.

Happy Mardi Gras! Maybe you should celebrate with a little bite of King Cake!

Food never tastes better than when you're pregnant! If it's any consolation, I had to limit myself to one Little Debbie per day during my first pregnancy. Mine never waned. I had a voracious appetite all the way through. I won't even tell you how much I gained! At least you're eating lots of healthy stuff. :)

Oh Jenna!!!! Congratulations!! I'm so excited for you! Think you're tired...you're ten years younger than I was with my first. Ha! I KNOW you're tired. I was just re-reading the post where you said you're a good sleeper. You will be SO thankful for that when you're up 5 times a night! You'll at least get some z's in between. (What you won't be thankful for is not being able to sit down without nodding off, but hey, that won't last foreverl.)

Big blessings to you guys!

I found you blog hopping and I just have to say Congratulations!!! Your prego hunger will subside....just a note that a doctor told me AFTER my 2nd child...it only takes an extra 300 cals a day to feed a fetus...Nice that he told me AFTER I had him because I had 300 extra cals at breakfast LOL!!! I love your blog...SO ADORABLE!

Eating while pregnant is so much fun! Of course, I probably say this just because with our first two I was violently ill and had food aversions all the way up to delivery, so I only really experienced pregnant eating with our third. It's nothing less than a testament to my rock solid will of steel that I managed to gain only the recommended weight with our third!

Enjoy the pregnant eating~unfortunately it doesn't last forever!

You can do it

oooh, goodness, keep scarfing the healthy snack & protein! I remember thinking, "ugh, it's time to eat again?!" Seriously, food was a chores for a while there. But that's okay. First to go is the brain. Um, what did I just say?

I gotta admit- I had a hard time controlling my eating habits while I was pg. I always felt hungry but I wasn't lacking for food. I could have had 9 lb babies by the looks of me...but they were only around 7 lbs! LOL! So it wasn't baby weight. sigh.....
:)
Happy SITS day!

I still get days like that and I'm done with my pregnant days! ;) If ever there is a time to graze all day it's when your carrying or nursing a babe. Enjoy!!

Seriously, if more people overate with foods like those--we'd all be a heckuva lot healthier! You're doing your baby inside good. :-)

Happy SITS Day!

LOL, on the bright side--at least you're not one of those poor women who you hear telling about how some person walked up and asked, "How many months are you along?" even though they're not pregnant. Can you imagine?

People, they're the worst--as Seinfeld would say. :-)

Congrats on being SITS Featured Blogger--I love your unique style! :-)

hey, the baby needs the nutrition!
except that yeah, it takes a while to adjust back to eating for just one, if you know what i mean..

Michelle said...

It takes a LOT of calories to make a baby.

You are eating pretty healthy...way more healthy than I am. at that point in my pregnancy I was just trying NOT to throw up.

Girly Do Hairstyles said...

With my oldest it was pink lemon aid--- had to have it daily with every meal.

My daughter it was mustard on anything and everything.

And for the baby it was apples with lemon juice all over them. Like two lemons for every apple.

Got to love pregnancy. I hope your second trimester was easier on you too. Happy Sits day.

congrats on FB from SITS!

I don't think you are eating a lot at all, not for a pregnant woman, and it sounds like your diet is very healthy too. Good job.

I totally feel you here. I posted something similar to this about a month ago. When I was 20 something weeks. I just couldn't stop eating.

Yep! I remember those days! I had to have a sour green apple in the morning as I woke up and some fruit juice all day long. I craved fruit from the day I was pregnant to the day I gave birth.

Ahhh...pregnancy!

Unknown said...

LOL! I can so relate to this post. When I got to that hungry stage, I had what I called pre-breakfast, which was a bowl of bran flakes or kashi go-lean or oatmeal. Then I had my real breakfast of eggs with cottage cheese, toast and fruit. I think I ate 6-8 times a day throughout this pregnancy. You're almost there! Stop by and visit me if you get a chance.

HAPPY SITS day!

Honey! I eat that much when Im NOT pregnant!

mamammelloves said...

I ate A LOT throughout my entire pregnancy... I kept reading that I wouldn't feel as hungry in the 3rd trimester... Uh, nope... this didn't happen for me. Apparently my son was a very hungry boy in there. I would even wake up in the middle of the night to eat a fruit cup or something. And, I was still getting sick if I didn't eat right after waking up... Pregnancy is crazy! :)

I am almost 17 weeks pregnant with #2 and eating like there's no tomorrow. Yesterday my husband made a comment about needing to buy more groceries "if you're going to keep eating like this" and I nearly ripped his head off his neck with my bare hands.

Just kidding. Yeah, yeah - that's it. Just kidding.
